Tell us about your journey as a student of Pendleton County Schools. Which PC Schools did you attend? (i.e. What was something special that you experienced and/or a highlight of your time as a student?)
I attended Northern Elementary School, Phillip Sharp Middle School, and Pendleton County High School. If I could pick one experience from my student career in Pendleton County it would have to be the NJROTC program. Going through that program helped shape me and make me into the man I am today, and also helped me decide what I wanted to do as a career.
What aspects of the education you received at PCS helped mold you into the person you are today?
The aspects that helped me were the teachers and the staff of the schools. If I ever had a problem, all I had to do was ask. They were always asking what I wanted to do after high school so they could help me get on the right path to success.
When you think back on your experience in Pendleton County Schools, are there specific instances or relationships that stand out to you as having had a significant impact on your success since graduation? (Special events, particular teacher, assistant, bus driver, cafeteria worker, etc. that impact you.)
As far as teachers I’d have to say that Mr. Nahari and Mr. Prather. They both were influential in my life and I consider them mentors. They both served in the military and they both are retired now but if I ever have a question I can message them anytime and they will help me.
As a product of the Pendleton County school system, what advice would you give to a parent who was choosing an education path for their child?
The Pendleton County school system is an amazing system. I couldn’t think of a better school system to put a kid through. I recently just found out that I am going be a dad and if I had the opportunity my child would go to Pendleton Schools.
As a product of Pendleton County Schools, what drives you to give back to your local school district and/or community?
What drives me to give back to my community? The fact that after graduating from the Pendleton County school system I joined the Navy. Every time I come back home, I get to go out in the community and talk to all the people I knew growing up and all the people that were influential in my life. When you live in one place for 18 years and then you get a career and have to leave it is hard at first but that little town that you grew up in will always be in your mind. I always take pride in telling everybody that I work with that I am from Butler, Ky.
