By Carolyn Reid The first 2023 meeting of Falmouth City Council drew a standing-room-only crowd consisting of city residents, business owners, and a few interested county residents as the new council discussed the city police department in a one-hour long special meeting.
Falmouth’s police department stood silent Monday morning, January 2, as did the county scanner. By 6 a.m., dispatch is usually calling police department shifts. The first Monday of 2023, no one was available to handle shifts as the department had resigned before the new year and new administration began.

Gathering Wing crowd exceeds expectations as Santa comes to town

By Carolyn Reid Kelly Mosley had hoped for 25 people to show for the toy distribution at the Gathering Wing. To her surprise and pleasure, 148 people showed up to see Santa and to take home a bit of Christmas cheer. The gifting did not start with Santa.

What good things have happened during the past four years in your city? In the past four years, several great things have been accomplished for our city such as updating our maintenance fleet and replacing the outdated, decade-old cruiser that our police department utilizes to serve our residents.
