New Fire Chief Dave Klaber and Assistant Fire Chief John Lucas   were introduced at the Butler City Council on Monday, February 1. Klaber said that he plans on doing a big push to try to get new recruits for the Butler fire station. If you are interested in recruiting to be a volunteer fire fighter, please contact him at 859-654-8256 or come to Falmouth station any Thursday at 7 p.m.
Police Chief Kenny Hale reported he had 74 calls in January, including domestic violence calls, workplace harassment, neighbor disputes, a road rage call, traffic stops which included a drug bust and violation of city ordinances to name a few.
Regarding alcohol sales in the city of Butler, the city will be putting together an ordinance that will govern the times of sales, days of sales, etc.  all of the details have not yet been worked out. That will be forthcoming.
The City of Butler will be getting GPS on all turn on and off valves for water.  They will also install these for sewer lines and manholes. This will allow for finding water leaks as quickly as possible.
Pendleton County Ambulance is asking for donations of water and individually wrapped snacks to take care of the firefighters when they are out on a call. The Red Cross is not working at this time due to being shut down so the ambulance is attempting to take care of the firefighters by giving them water and a snack to keep them going. Contact the ambulance headquarters at 859-654-6951 if interested in donating.
Beginning in March, water meter readings will have the 10 percent penalty for late payments.
Daryl Mullins was approved for Planning and Zoning for a four-year term.
