Ladycats finish runner-up at districts, will host regionals this week

By Sam McClanahan CYNTHIANA — The Pendleton County Ladycats Fastpitch Softball team made quick work of Nicholas County in opening round play of the 38th District Tournament last week but would fall to Harrison County in the championship round.

Ladycats Softball concludes regular season, honors Verst & Cooper

By Sam McClanahanThe Pendleton County Ladycats Fastpitch Softball team concluded their 2025 regular season last week and honored their two senior captains, Madison Verst and Logan Cooper.The team won two of three in notching wins over Grant and Bracken County before falling to Madison Central.

Jones selected to inaugural 10th Region Baseball HOF class

By Sam McClanahan Nate Jones, who was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 2007 and went onto pitch in the major leagues for over a decade, was recently selected to be apart of the inaugural class for the newly-formed 10th Region Baseball Hall of Fame.

Ladycats extend winning streak to four

By Sam McClanahan The Pendleton County Ladycats appear to have found their stride as they are now enjoying a season-best four game winning streak.The team began last week hosting Notre Dame on April 22 and came away with a 3-1 win.

Mayer named Mid-South Conference Shooter of the Year

By Sam McClanahan   Kennadi Mayer, a 2023 PCHS alum who is currently a junior and on a full ride scholarship with the University of Pikeville studying Psychology, has had a very successful archery season earning the title as the 2025 Mid-South Conference "Shooter of the Year.

Patriots host youth baseball tournament benefit for Daugherty

By Nila Harris   The Pendleton County Patriots hosted the 11U Strikes Against Cancer tournament on April 13 for Patriots coach and board member, Travis Daugherty.  This long-time football coach was recently diagnosed with cancer and has undergone treatments to battle the disease.

By Stacey Meyers The Pendleton County Tennis team is looking forward to getting the season started.   Head Coach Dillon Feltner and Lisa Feltner are excited and looking forward to the season as they believe the teams look solid despite having just one senior on the team.

Wildcats look to utilize depth and athleticism to earn wins
