Stevie Morris, 67, Butler Print E-mail

Stevie G. Morris, 67, of Butler, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. Born in Pendleton County on August 30, 1944, he was a member of the Flour Creek Christian Church, worked 30 years driving a truck for Butternut Bread, a member of the Teamsters Local Union 114, and was a Mason.

Preceding him in death were his parents, George and Julia Colvin Morris and brother, Nelson Morris.

Surviving are wife, Judy Hornbeek Morris of Butler; daughter, Stephanie Auchter of Falmouth; brother, Terry Morris of Falmouth; sisters, Georgia Redmon of Florence, Ruth Bray of Wilder, and grandchildren, Steven and Cameron Auchter.

Funeral services will be held at  11 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, Peoples Funeral Home, Butler. Interment will take place at Butler Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 11 Shelby Street, Florence, Ky 41042.

Orville Ingram, 96, Berry Print E-mail

Orville Ingram, 96, of Berry, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Elm Croft in Florence. Born in Harrison County on July 1, 1915.

Surviving are daughters,  Sandra (Parker) Fryman of Burlington and Wayne Ann (Van) Shanklin of Berry.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 26 at the Woodhead Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Berry, and from 11 a.m.- noon on Friday preceding his service at the Berry Christian Church, 320 Main Street, Berry, Kentucky 41003, with Bro. Randy Wilson and Bro. L.D. Campbell officiating.

Interment will take place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry.

Memorials are suggested to the Berry Christian Church Building Fund, 320 Main Street, Berry, Kentucky 41003, or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 1317 U.S. Highway 62 E., Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031.

David Humphries, 65, Ohio Print E-mail

David Kinsey Humphries, 65, of Harrison, Ohio, formerly of Harrison County, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Born on April 4, 1946 in Harrison County, he was a son of the late Charles and Pauline Thompson Humphries.

He graduated from Harrison County High School and Great Lakes Bible College in Michigan. He was a missionary to Mexico, loved Southern Gospel music, was UK’s number one fan, but above all, he loved God and family. Many loved David’s gentle manner and admired him for enduring debilitating illnesses for over 20 years without complaint.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Joan Bennett Humphries; son, David K. Humphries; daughters,  Michelle Humphries and Cerena Humphries Lynn (Christopher); his granddaughter, Elizabeth Humphries-Wheeler; sisters,  Anna Cason, Janet Roark, and Peggy Williams; brother, Timothy Humphries; and many nephews and nieces.

A memorial service  was held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Cleves Church of Christ.

Interment took place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry, under the direction of Woodhead Funeral Home in Berry.   Memorials are suggested to the Berry Christian Church, 320 Main Street, Berry, Kentucky 41003.

Donald Brown, 74, Cynthiana Print E-mail

Donald Brown, 74, of Cynthiana, formerly of Berry, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at the Hospice Care Center of St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Martha Brown, daughters, Karen Reed  and Tressie Faulkner, both of Cynthiana, and son, Michael (Marie) Brown of Mt. Olivet.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 21, at Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry. Interment took place at the Pythian Grove Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Boyd United Methodist Church or the Firemanís Fund c/o City of Berry.

Martin Ortega, 26, Berry Print E-mail

Martin Antonio Martinez Ortega, 26, of Berry, passed away on  Saturday, December 31, 2011, near his home. Born on May 18, 1985 in Mexico City, Mexico, he was the son of Jovita Ortega Rodriguez and the late Espiridion Martinez Maya.  He worked in construction. He loved being outdoors and watching movies.

In addition to his mother,  Jovita Ortega Rodriguez, he is survived by his sister, Adriana Soto Martinez; brothers,  Raul, Alfredo, Fernando, Gabino, and Ernesto Martinez; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 6, at  Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry with Rev. Louis Dickmann officiating.

Interment took place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry. Memorials are suggested to the Woodhead Funeral Home, 310 W. Shelby Street, Falmouth.

Icie Lucas, 87, Independence Print E-mail

Icie Frances Colvin Lucas, 87, of Independence, formerly of Falmouth, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011, at the Carmel Manor Nursing Home in Ft. Thomas. Born on February 13, 1924, she was the daughter of the late J.T. and Jesse Bowie Colvin. In 1942 she married Ralph Franklin Lucas who preceded her in death on August 7, 1996. She was a member of the Trinity Southern Baptist Church and a retired cafeteria manager for the Pendleton County Schools.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ralph, she was preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Wilson and Mary Lee Wiggins; and brothers, Joe, Lawrence, and Melvin Colvin.

Surviving are her children, Janet Turley of Independence and  Michael Lucas of Lexington; four grandchildren, Craig and Tony Turley, Kelly Walters, and Jennifer Lucas; nine great- grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on January 3, at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth with Bro. Conrad Hefner officiating. Pallbearers for the service were Tony, Craig, Brett, Michael, and Ryan Turley, Tommy Walters, John and Steve Lucas, Danny Brannock, and Eddie Price.

Honorary Pallbearers were Glen and Bob Wilson, and Phil Wiggins. Music was shared by Dee Browning.

Interment followed in the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Southern Baptist Church: 309 E. Shelby St. Falmouth.

Charles Wyatt, 82, Bracken Co. Print E-mail

Charles David Wyatt, 82, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Edgewood.

Born on September 27, 1929 to the late Arlie (Pick) and Ruth Hamilton Wyatt, he was an Army Veteran, a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church, Woodmen of the World, and American Legion.

Preceding him in death were Arlie Wyatt, Jr. and A.T. Wyatt.

Surviving are his wife, Retha Hamilton whom he married June 24, 1955, his children, Tony (Maggie) Wyatt of Burlington, Pamela Wyatt of Cold Spring, Michael (Angie) Wyatt of California, Kimberly Wyatt of Hebron, and Richard Allen Wyatt of Falmouth;  grandchildren, Steven (Kelli) Wyatt, Andrea Miller (Mike) Wingate, Justin (Lauren) Miller, Ross Bashinski, Wyatt Bashinksi, Cassie Wyatt, Kaleb Wyatt, Logan Wyatt, Randy Wyatt, Rachel Moore, and Beth Wyatt; 10 great-grandchildren;  and sisters, Ruby Wilson of Tampa, Fla., and Genevieve Moses of Taylor Mill.

Funeral services were held  on Saturday, January 7 at Moore and Parker funeral home in Brooksville.

Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth with full military honors by the Hardin- Browning Post #109.
