Blanket Creek

We had a guest speaker this morning. Florentin Clipa is a missionary in Romania where he was born into communism. They  broke away from that regime in 1989. However, his father was persecuted before that time for delivering bibles throughout the country. When they were loaded onto the train, the bibles were immediately thrown out the window and were not delivered. Take a minute to think about that and appreciate the freedom we have here in the U.S. and thank God first and then the men and women who have fought and still are fighting and dying for us to have that freedom.

We were also happy to have several family members of our departed sister in Christ Doris Blackburn with us. They come at this time each year to honor her and her love for Blanket Creek.

Please remember the family of Brady Delaney and any others who passed recently.

Bro. Mark’s message was from Luke 15.

God wants a relationship with us.  He wants you!
Notorious sinners often came to Jesus’ sermons.  This caused complaints from the Jewish religious leaders that Jesus was associating with despicable people.  He was even eating with them.  Jesus illustrated, if I had a hundred sheep and one strayed and was lost, wouldn’t you leave the 99 and search for the lost one until you found it?  In the same way heaven will be happier over one lost sinner who returns to God.

If you don’t have the relationship with Jesus like you should, it’s time to change that.  There will be rejoicing!

God is good all the time, all the time God is good! We couldn’t mean this more than when we watch a baptism, and Sunday we witnessed Penn Gregg’s baptism and we pray for his walk with Christ.

The children’s message, And It Was Very Good, from Genesis 1:31, “And

God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” Bro. Dale has challenged the kids in children’s worship to learn the books of the bible, this week they started with the first five books, and will build on that each Sunday.

Kip Gregg read scripture, I Peter 2:9-10 followed by the Praise team special. Bro. Dale’s message, A Holy Calling was based on II Timothy 1:8-12. The message had four points: Saved and Called, Called for a Purpose, Called by Grace, and Called in Jesus Christ. The message being – “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.
