Wildcats claim wins over Nicholas and Bracken counties

By Sam McClanahan The Pendleton County Wildcats basketball team returned to action following a lengthy 11-day layoff thanks to the recent snowstorm that swept through the state.On January 11, the team hosted Montgomery County in their first home game in three weeks.

Ladycats split pair with Bluegrass United and Nicholas County, now 6-9 overall

By Samantha Verst The Ladycats basketball team now sits at a record of 6-9 on the regular season. The team picked up a win over Bluegrass United on January 14 and fell short to district foe Nicholas County on January 17.

By Samantha Verst The Pendleton County Ladycats basketball team traveled to Charleston, South Caroline over Christmas Break to compete in a tournament at Summerville High School. The team went 0-3 on the week but learned a lot about themselves both individually and as a team.

Wildcats split pair with Dunbar and Ludlow

By Sam McClanahan The Pendleton County Wildcats returned home on December 20 and were able to pull out a thrilling win over Paul Laurence Dunbar. The team looked to carry that momentum after Christmas while competing in the Swauger Holiday Invitational held at Bellevue.

Schools offer incentives to recruit bus drivers

By Burton Cole BUTLER — Short of bus drivers, the Pendleton County School District is ready to pay current drivers $1,500 for every new driver they recruit.

PCHS Bowling finishes runner-up at Holy Cross, scores road win over Bishop Brossart

By Rhonda Hutchison On November 16, the Pendleton County bowling team participated in the Holy Cross High School Team Baker Event. Five team members had to bowl two seeding games each.The Wildcats had a total pin count of 1732 and seeded fourth out of 15 boys teams.

Wildcats eager to meet expectations in '24-25

By Sam McClanahan The Pendleton County Wildcats basketball team finds itself in a position that is has not seen in several seasons. And that is to meet expectations that stem from previous success.

By Samantha Verst The Ladycats 2024 volleyball season has come to an end with a 22-7 record. This past week, the team competed in the 10th regional tournament and walked away having etched their way into Pendleton County volleyball history.
