Redden puts his shot in 5th at MS state meet

    Tyler Redden placed 5th in the Shot Put category at the middle school state Track and Field competition held on Saturday, June 5th.
    Redden is currently an 8th grade student at Sharp Middle School. Redden’s best throw of the day was 41 feet and 6.5 inches, which is his personal record for his season.
    Tyler Redden also participated in High Jump and Discus at the state competition.     The meet was held at Eastern High School in Middletown. Redden says, “I’m aiming to get first in the next couple years. I’m thankful for my teammates, Blayne, Mack, and Caleb, for teaching me everything about Shot Put.”
    In state Shot Put, there is a qualifying round where the students get 3 throws. This year, 20 kids qualified to got to state. Nine people advanced to the finals where they got 3 additional throws. The competition is hosted by the Kentucky Track and Cross-Country Coaches Association. The winning throw had the distance of 44 feet and 1.75 inches.
