US MILITARY VETERAN
Falmouth — Richard Earl Gillespie, 66, of Falmouth, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026, at his home.
He was born in Ft. Thomas, KY on June 15, 1960, son of the late Earl and Mable Sydnor Gillespie.
Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. who carried the values of honor, dedication, and service throughout his life. He was employed by Dana Incorporated, where he worked faithfully as a forklift driver for many years. Richard was a member of Antioch Mills Christian Church, where his faith remained a guiding force in his life. He will be remembered as a hardworking, dependable, and kind-hearted man whose quiet strength, unwavering commitment to his family, and genuine compassion left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Gillespie; sisters, Betty (Jimmy) Aucther, Ruby (late Tommy) Colvin; sister-in-law & brother-in-law Timmy and Debbie Golden, William and Faye Taulbee; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his son, Richard Alan Gillespie; daughter, Kasten Marie Gillespie; and niece Patricia Colvin.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Peoples Funeral Home, in Butler. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home.
Richard’s final resting place will be at Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pendleton County Animal Shelter and Antioch Mills Christian Church, in Berry.
