FALMOUTH — Larry O. Fields, 90, of Falmouth, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at the Cedar Ridge Health Campus, where he had been a resident for seven months.
Born on July 26, 1936, in Bracken County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Chester Omer and Christine Simpson Fields.
For more than 30 years, he worked as a machinist with General Electric in Evendale, Ohio.
On June 7, 1958, Larry married Janice Carol Jones Fields, and they were blessed with 63 wonderful years of marriage, filled with faith, family and friends as he took loving care of her until she preceded him on April 28, 2022. Always together, they made the most of every day and brightened every room they entered.
Larry was a member and deacon of Blanket Creek Baptist Church, Pendleton County, where he took an active part in many church activities and projects.
He belonged to Woodmen of the World Lodge #611, supporting their activities and representing the local club within the state.
A U.S. Army veteran, Larry was also a member of the Hardin-Browning Post 109.
He and Janice enjoyed square dancing with friends, vacationing in Florida for many years, supporting the community they loved and cheering his beloved Kentucky Wildcats to victory.
Larry’s good nature and contagious sense of humor guaranteed to make any gathering/event he was a part of more fun and memorable. He was a man for all seasons, and he could find enjoyment doing absolutely anything. The memories of who he was and ho he lived will remain with all who loved him.
Surviving to cherish and continue his legacy are four children blessed to have him as their dad: Sherry Lynn Fields (Dave) Bowling of Erlanger, Kentucky, Roger (Kathy) Fields, David Fields and Rusty (Pati) Fields, all of Falmouth, Kentucky; cherished papaw to nine grandchildren, Julie Dawn Wainscott (predeceased him in May 2020), Kenneth Wayne Bowling, Darrell Lee Bowling, Kristopher Scott Fields, Amber Danielle Gosney, Hannah Nicole Stahl, Kurtis James Fields, Krystal Elisabeth Perry and Katie Lynn Fields; beloved great-papaw to 13 great grandchildren, Johnathon “Tyler” Wainscott, Ryan Christopher Wainscott, Landen Lee Bowling, Zoey Hope Bowling, Chloe Ann Bowling, Marley Rose Fields, Denver Scott Fields, Jordyn Taylor Gosney, Callie Marie Gosney, Lane Bradley Gosney, Peyton Nicole Fields, Eleanor Rose Stahl and Eva Sue Stahl; brother to Jerry (Dora Helen) Fields of Edmonton, Illinois, and Steve (Ginny) Fields of Cynthiana, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Brown, and a brother, Wayne Fields.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. The visitations will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Woodhead Funeral Home, and from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday preceding his service.
Interment will take place in the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Pendleton County, with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post 109.
Memorial donations in his memory are suggested to the Blanket Creek Baptist Church or the Hardin-Browning Post 109.
