PCHS Athletic Department to recognize 1,000 point club Print E-mail

There has been over 50 years of Wildcats Varsity basketball teams.  There has been just under 40 years of Ladycats basketball teams.

And through all those teams and based on the information available to the Pendleton County High School Athletic Department, only 21 Wildcats or Ladycats basketball players have tallied 1,000 points or more in their careers.

On Alumni Night, Friday, January 3, and in between the Ladycats and Wildcats Varsity games, PCHS Athletics will honor these 21 individuals for their accomplishment.

They are: Bobby Lee Wyatt, Sheila Ockerman, Kim Hinton, Amy Moreland, Andrew Gosney, Joey Verax, Kelsie Pugh, Rick Elrod, Cathy Roseberry, Mark Browning, David Turner, Megan Wood, Tyler Mains, Mason Monroe, Timmy Cooper, Keaton Belcher, Nick Turner, Bill Turner, Talbert Turner Jr., and Nancy Moreland.

Whether it was a Dickie King long range jumper, a Mason Monroe jumper where he rose above the defender, a Talbert Turner barrage of jumpers and slashing drives, or a Rick Elrod power move in the lane, the Wildcats invite you to bring back some old memories as they take the PCHS floor one more time.

For the Ladycats, you might recall the smooth play of Amy Moreland or the quartet in the mid-80’s of Nancy Moreland, Sheila Ockerman, Cathy Roseberry and Kim Hinton or the unstoppable force of Megan Wood.

Be sure to come out for this special night as the PCHS Athletic Department recognizes the members of the 1,000 point club for the Wildcats and Ladycats basketball teams.
