Todd Schafer's Crooner Christmas Print E-mail

A wonderful way to get yourself in the spirit of Christmas would be by attending "A Crooner Christmas" VIII at the Alexandria Community Center from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, December 15.

Todd Schafer, Jerry Moore, Todd Whitford and special guest will be performing Christmas songs and songs that were sung by your favorite crooners in years past.

From Sinatra to Crosby, from pop to country, plus a special group of Christmas gospel will be performed. Admission is free with a free will offering taken to help less fortunate individuals and families in the area.

Todd Schafer has strong ties to the community through his grandparents John and Nellie Keith, who were lifetime residents of Pendleton County. His parents, Lee and Joyce Schafer also grew up in Pendleton and Campbell counties until Todd was born and they moved to Louisville.

While growing up, Todd performed for many churches in the area as well as senior events. In the late 1970s he performed with Lawrence Welk on several occasions. He has also performed the national anthem for many major colleges including UK during the NCAA Regionals, U of L, Xavier, and opened UC at Shoemaker Arena now known as Fifth Third Arena.

For nearly a decade, Todd has lived with a 17 to 20% ejectionfactor resulting from congestive heart failure/cardiomyopathy and atrial fib. God allows him to perform this program year after year.

Come hear your favorite Crooner tunes and get your Christmas spirit brightened with beautiful renditions of "Let it Snow" and "White Christmas" to "Your Cheatin' Heart" to "Release Me" to "Maria" to "Amazing Grace." There is sure to be something for everyone!
