Pendleton County Retired Teachers Association (PCRTA) met on September 4, 2013 for our first meeting of the 2013-2014 year. At the meeting we collected 29 bags of food for back pack meals that were taken to the South Family and Youth Services Center. The Kentucky Retired Teachers donated 22,004 food items last year. It was noted that PCRTA members reported 11,355 volunteer hours to the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association as part of the 689,593 volunteer hours reported state wide in the 2012-2013 year. Pendleton County Retired Teachers accepted a $50 school-supply grant from Kentucky AARP and matched it from our local treasury. Pat Lynch purchased School Supplies costing $100 and delivered them to the School. Thank you, Pat for shopping for us. Kentucky Retired teachers donated 2,087 bags of school supplies last year. Fifty dollars was donated to KET. A report about Health Care concerns for retirees including those that are not covered by teacher’s health care was given.
