Roy Allen Bishop, 78 Print E-mail

Roy Allen Bishop, 78, of Maysville, formerly of Pendleton County, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Pendleton County on March 6, 1935 to the late Sherman and Elizabeth Straub Bishop and married Ruby Nell Allender Bishop on July 12, 1958, his dear wife survives his passing. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Lenoxburg Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were sisters, Gertie Mae Bishop and Florence Sweeney; and brother, Raymond Bishop.

Surviving him, in addition to his wife of 55 years, are children,   Sherman Bishop, Phillips, Wis., Gary (Debbie) Bishop, Brooksville and Tim (Becky) Bishop, Brooksville; sisters, Dorothy Porter, Verona, Beulah Fardo, Fairfield, Ohio and Nellie Riley,  Union; grandchildren,  Elizabeth Calkins, Lee, Logan, Landon, Tyler and Travis Bishop; seven  step-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth,  with Bro. Tony Bishop and Bro. Don Mays officiating. Special music was shared by Millie Blades. Serving as pallbearers were Lee, Logan, Landon, Tyler and Travis Bishop and Jeremy Baker.

Interment took place in the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.
