|Volunteer with 4-H|
Whether they’re leading a club meeting or helping judge a speech contest, adult volunteers are an essential and invaluable part of 4-H. In fact, many 4-H programs would not be possible without the help of caring, adult volunteers.
If you enjoy helping young people learn new subjects and reach goals, volunteering may be for you. With a variety of programs ranging from archery to cooking, adults volunteers can find a 4-H program to meet their interests or experience level.
Adult volunteers can help shape future leaders by helping 4-H’ers develop leadership skills, a sense of community and a positive connection with someone from a different age group. Volunteers can serve in different capacities from one night for one event to a year commitment as a leader of a 4-H club.
The vast majority of those who volunteer find they receive back just as much as they give. Volunteering is an opportunity for you to share your talents and interests with others. In the process, you can positively impact in the lives of young people, give back to your community and have fun doing an activity you enjoy. Many volunteers find it’s very rewarding for them to watch young people build self-confidence and self-worth as they develop new interests and accomplish goals.
