|Reds poised to avenge last season's disastrous end|

The final image of the Cincinnati Reds 2012 season was that of aging, oft-injured third baseman Scott Rolen being overpowered at the plate by San Francisco Giants closer Sergio Romo, striking out to end the decisive final game of the National League Divisional Series.
The result sent both clubs into opposite directions. The Giants would go on to ride a wave of momentum all the way to a World Series crown by knocking off the American League champion Detroit Tigers. The Reds, however, were left scratching their collective heads and forced to gaze into the proverbial mirror to ask "what went wrong?"
