By Sam McClanahan Kennadi Mayer, a 2023 PCHS alum who is currently a junior and on a full ride scholarship with the University of Pikeville studying Psychology, has had a very successful archery season earning the title as the 2025 Mid-South Conference "Shooter of the Year.

Patriots host youth baseball tournament benefit for Daugherty

By Nila Harris The Pendleton County Patriots hosted the 11U Strikes Against Cancer tournament on April 13 for Patriots coach and board member, Travis Daugherty. This long-time football coach was recently diagnosed with cancer and has undergone treatments to battle the disease.

PCHS Track & Field program begins new era

By Jennifer Redden A new era of Pendleton County Track and Field begins this spring as the team inaugurates their new facilities.In addition to resurfacing the track, new long jump, high jump, shot put, pole vault, and discus amenities were installed.

The 2025 Pendleton County Ladycats Fastpitch Softball team begins play this week under head coach Jessica Verst, who enters her fourth full season leading the program. The 10th Region Coaches Association recently announced their in-season award selections for the 2024-25 basketball season.Wildcat senior, Aden Merrill, was named 3rd Team All-Region. Merrill led the Wildcats in scoring averaging 15.6 points per game while shooting 53 percent from the field.

The team was in search of a spark to provide them some positive momentum heading into this week's 38th District Tournament.

By Samantha VerstThe Pendleton County Ladycats basketball team now sits at a 12-13 regular season record after a long week of games which featured two wins and two losses. They ended the week having picked up two wins over 38th district opponents, which puts them at a 4-2 district record.
