Wildcats pick up first victory over Gallatin County

The Pendleton County Wildcats picked up their first win of the season with a lopsided win over Gallatin County. The Wildcats jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the second inning and never looked back, as they out hit Gallatin County 14-5.

Seniors Dalton Hughes and Ethan Verst had big days at the plate as Hughes went two for four with four RBIs, while Verst went three for four with two runs driven in. Jacob Frisch picked up the win on the mound as he threw two innings of relief, striking out five and allowing just one hit.

In other action, the Wildcats dropped their first home game of the season to the Royals of Mason County 14-3 on March 29 and on April 2, the Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Rebels of Owen County.

Up next for Pendleton County will be a home game versus the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds on April 4, followed by a home matchup against the Braves of Grant County on April 8 beginning at noon.
