Wildcats net two wins at Bluegrass Games

Pendleton County Wildcats soccer team won two of three exhibition matches while taking part in the Bluegrass Games that were held at Masterson Station Park in Lexington.

On July 22, the Wildcats defeated Taylor County 3-2. Senior John Wright scored two goals and Clark Cummins added another in the victory. Dawson Nichols assisted on two of the goals.

The Wildcats also picked up a 7-3 win over Russellvile as Chase Nichols dominated in scoring five goals. Wright and Kaden Espelage also scored in the game. Dawson Nichols would add two more assists in this victory.

On July 23, the Wildcats would fall 5-2 to Ohio County. Wright and Jacob Frisch scored for Pendleton County. Chase Nichols assisted on both goals.

"This is a big improvement over last year, " said second year head coach Amber Nichols. "We've seen some major growth in several of our players. We know what we need to work on and we're excited to get the season underway."
