The PCHS Ladycats soccer team will be competing in a pair of pre-season exhibitions beginning with a Soccerama held at Estill County on July 29 and the NKY Soccerama to be held August 5.

Team tryouts will conclude on July 18 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Northern Elementary. Practices will also start at that time going every weekday until the start of the season.  Any girl from 7th to 12th grade is encouraged to come out and participate. Head coach Aaron Harper says that they promote a positive team environment while being competitive, along with improving individual skill and knowledge of the game.   “I’m very excited and encouraged with our turnout that we have had throughout open fields and summer workouts.”  We've seen a large number of new players attending open field sessions during the off season which is very encouraging for the future of the program. Season requirements needed for girls soccer are a physical(KHSAA form), ball, water bottle, shin guards, soccer cleats and running shoes.

In boys soccer news, tryouts will be held July 18-19 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Northern Elementary for participants entering grades 7-12 and they are asked to bring a water jug, shin guards and cleats. The team's second annual Kick-A-Thon has begun. All $100 sponsors will be listed on the field during the season. Visit the PCHS Wildcats soccer Facebook page for more details.
