PCHS bowlers set personal records in busy week

On December 5, the Ladycats bowling team faced the Cooper Jaguars. In the first round, the Jaguars came out hot and secured both points. Not to go down easily, the Ladycats fought back and split the round two points making the score 3-1 in favor of Cooper. In the first baker game, the Ladycats came out victorious 113-99 but lost the second baker game 123-109. The final match score was 5-2 in favor of the Jaguars. Scores as follows: Brooklyn Wrobleski 83-92, Maddie Crawford 145-141, Kree Brewer 197-139, Emma Lee Chappell 72-64, Dara Morton 94-93, Aliyah Webster 90-108.

In the boys match, the Wildcats took both round one points from the Jaguars. Braden Brann also set a new school record for high game with a 290. In the second round, the Jaguars rose to the fight and came back to take both points making the score 2-2 going into the baker games. Not to be defeated the Wildcats dominated the baker games 216-196 and 195-140 to take both points and total pins to win the match 5-2. Scores as follows: Braden Brann 290-158, Colton Webster 103, Josiah Hurdle 120, Karson Enzweiler 173-149, Bradley Brann 227-174, Leroy Bryant 200-164, Adam Strauss 171-145, Chance Enzweiler 217-149, Kyan Brewer 181-237.

On December 7, the Cats were at Southern Lanes in Alexandria, facing their long time rival, the Campbell County Camels. The Ladycats were shut out by the Lady Camels 7-0. Scores as follows: Emma Lee Chappell 91-52, Dara Morton 65-101, Aliyah Webster 140-99, Brooklyn Wrobleski 94-96, Maddie Crawford 168-166, Kree Brewer 171-150. In round one, the Wildcats took both points in what proved to be close games. Leroy Bryant led the scoring in round one with a 246 followed closely by Kyan Brewer with a 245 and Bradley Brann with a 212. In the second round the points were split with each team taking one point making the score 3-1 in favor of the Wildcats going into the baker games. Kyan Brewer lead the second round scoring with a 279 followed by Leroy Bryant 213, Bradley Brann 204 and Adam Strauss 200. The Camels kicked it into high gear going into the baker games and took both points as well as total pins to win the match 4-3. Kyan Brewer also set a new school record for a two game series total with a 524. Scores as follows: Braden Brann 185-193, Colton Webster 125, Josiah Hurdle 123, Karson Enzweiler 183-172, Bradley Brann 212-204, Leroy Bryant 246-213, Adam Strauss 151-200, Chance Enzweiler 132-162, Kyan Brewer 245-279.

On December 9, eleven of the Wildcat/Ladycat team members entered into the Boone County Singles Tournament. Each bowler bowled two games for seeding and then entered into the stepladder one and out part of the tournament. There were 46 bowlers in the girls division of the tournament. After the two game seeding round the Ladycats were seeded as follows: Kree Brewer 1st with a 373, Maddie Crawford 12th with a 276 and Alyiah Webster 20th with a 264. All Ladycats seeded high enough to receive a bye in the first round. During round two, all three young women bowled great games Brewer 223, Crawford 139, Webster 147 to win their individual game and move on to round three. In the third round, Crawford and Webster were unable to secure the win and were eliminated from the tournament while Brewer won and moved on to the fourth round. Brewer also secured a win in both round four and round five, moving her into the final against Alexis Tignor from Cooper. The final was a close game and it was neck and neck till the end, however Brewer was unable to overcome Tignor and finished second in the match. Kree Brewer was also selected to the girls all-tournament team. In the boys division, there were a total of 86 bowlers. After the seeding round, the Wildcats were seeded as follows: Bradley Brann 2nd with a 461, Kyan Brewer 3rd with a 440, Braden Brann 5th with a 428, Adam Straus 10th with a 395 and Karson Enzweiler 15th with a 378. In the opening round, Chance Enzweiler was able to secure a victory. In the second round, the Wildcats lost two more bowlers, Karson Enzweiler and Adam Straus, while the Brann's, Brewer and Chance Enzweiler moved on to the third round. During round three, Enzweiler was eliminated while Kyan Brewer, along with Braden and Bradley Brann advanced all the way to the elite eight. In the elite eight, Bradley Brann was eliminated while Braden Brann and Kyan Brewer secured spots in the final four. Braden Brann was not able to secure a win and was eliminated by Maddox Kuryla from Boone County. Kyan Brewer won his game 233-161, moving him into the finals against Kuryla. This final also proved to be a tight one with Kuryla winning the tournament and Kyan Brewer finishing second. Braden Brann, Bradley Brann and Kyan Brewer were all selected to the boys all tournament team. Pendleton county had four of the 10 bowlers (girls/boys) selected for the all tournament teams.
