Lanigan finds victory Lane, Davenport sweeps Historic 100

    Darrell Lanigan had a pretty good trip to Eldora in preparation for the Double Dream events picking up his first win of the season in the Johnny Appleseed Classic finishing ahead of Ricky Weiss, Scott James, Freddie Carpenter, and Devon Moran. Lanigan was the Fast Time winner during qualifying and finished second in his heat race before going on to win the feature.
    Florence Speedway canceled the Castrol FloRacing Night last week because of rain. Florence is also having a Monster Truckz Extreme Tour  event on June 11-13. There will be car crushing and jumps by monster trucks as well as having a man shot out of a Monster Truck cannon. The Nitro Motocross Team will also be putting on a show of daring acrobatic manuvers.
    Jonathan Davenport took both nights of the Historic 100 last weekend at West Virginia Motor Speedway. On Friday night Davenport  held off Gregg Saterlee and Tyler Erb. Saturday was almost a repeat in the 50 lap feature Davenport opened  the lead toward the end over second place finisher Satterlee and Devin Moran in third. Bloomquist fans he did run in the Historic both nights finishing Fifth on Friday and eleventh on Saturday.
    Hudson O’Neal won the Show Me  100 in the Lucas Oil Series holding off Brandon Sheppard and Josh Richards. Points leader Tim McCreadie finished fourth. That is one heck of a top four no matter what series you are talking about.
    Team Hendrick continues their dominance as Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott finish first and second again this week. Martin Truex Jr. was third as the trio battled the last few laps of the race including a couple of restarts.
    Kyle Larson and Ty Gibbs are the hottest drivers on asphalt right now. Larson has won four straight races two in NASCAR and two on dirt.  Gibbs is running away in ARCA with another win Saturday and a second place finish in Xfinity.
    Kentucky native and Outdoor Truck driver Ben Rhodes made his debut in the Cup Series this wekend  and finished in 30th.
    The Dale Jr. Download podcast was really interesting this week as his guest was Ty Norris. Norris was one of the main players at DEI when it was at its height. The episode focused on how DEI crumbled after the death of Dale Sr. and how the vision he had for the race team never came to fruition.
