The Pendleton County Ladycats started their season with two victories in three games as they clinched road wins at Williamstown and Boone County.

On November 27, the Ladycats defeated Williamstown 63-36. Sophomore Lilly Ashcraft and junior Kearstin Mayer had 17 points each while freshman Hannah Spaulding added 15 points and six rebounds. Junior Madison Verst finished with nine points and added six steals.

The Ladycats traveled to Boone County on November 29 and improved to 2-0 with a 50-43 victory.  The Ladycats were led in scoring by Mayer with 12 points and nine rebounds. Spaulding posted 11 points to go with seven rebounds.  Madison Verst knocked down three three-pointers to finish with nine points, while Lilly Ashcraft added seven points and five steals.

The Ladycats had their home opener on December 2 against North Oldham, falling by a score of 61-54.  The team was down 28-5 and slowly began chipping away and would ultimately pull within four points but could not get any closer, losing their first game of the season.

"With an inexperienced team, in December, you win or you learn. We learned a valuable lesson in this game and that is we have to compete in every possession. After falling behind, we showed some fight and resiliency while playing with urgency. Cut the lead to four late but couldn't get any closer,"said Ladycats coach Patrick Kelsch.

Ashcraft led the scoring with 16 points, while Spaulding had 14 points and six rebounds.  Madison Verst finished with 13 points while Mayer added 11.

The Ladycats next home game is December 8 against Ludlow.  On December 9, Pendleton County travels to Brooksville to take on Bracken County.
