Ladycat Volleyball hosted Augusta last Tuesday for their only match of the week.
The Ladycats opened the set by taking a sizable lead over the Lady Panthers. Augusta was forced to take a time out to try and break the momentum.
After the break Augusta was able to slow the Ladycats down, but not enough to derail Pendleton County who won the set 25-18.
The second set was much like the first except Pendleton County was the team forced to take the time out. Out of the break  the Ladycats fought their way into the lead and continued to stretch it to a 25-16 win.
As the teams played the third set Pendleton grabbed the lead early and never let go. They were able to set tempo and never let Augusta get a run started. Final set was Ladycats 25-16.
Olivia Verst once again anchored the defense with 37 digs on the night. While Emma Reid turned in six kills, four aces, and two blocks. Katelin Aulick six aces and four kills.
Coach French talked about her team after the match, “Next game up is St. Pat and it’s going to be a challenging game because they  have a very good defensive team this year. We will need to bring good coverage and a strong serving game.”
The Ladycats are third in the region and second in district standings.
The Ladycats will play the last week of regular season on October 14 at St. Patrick and October 15 at Owen County.
Districts  will be on October 20 versus Nicholas County 6:30 at Pendleton County High School.
