My first day of senior year was certainly different than I had ever imagined. A couple of my friends and I got up, got dressed, and showed up to the high school at 8 a.m. that Monday morning, August 25. We tried to keep a sense of normalcy and took some great first day photos.
After an obligatory trip to McDonald’s, we went to our respective homes because we had class soon. All of the staff across the district has been working incredibly hard in light of the unfortunate circumstances. This effort definitely shows in the “classroom”.
While many of my classes are dual-credit with either NKU or Gateway and online anyway, I have a couple that are solely through PCHS. Teachers and students alike are learning to navigate this new way of learning. The grace and understanding between my teachers and fellow classmates is great.
I hope and pray that my senior year is not experienced entirely through a computer screen and we can attend in person as soon as we are allowed to do so.
