The Pendleton County Ladycats Golf trio of Reese Barlow, Katie Wright, and Taylor Bruener are off to solid start to the 2023 season.

The girls took part in three events recently beginning with play at the Winchester Country Club. Senior Reese Barlow finished second overall as she fired a round of 75. Katie Wright posted an 89, and Taylor Bruener turned in a 103.

On July 25, the girls competed in Owen County. This time, the scores would all be close as Barlow shot 84, followed by Wright with a 91 and Bruener with a 100. The girls would then take part in the Shelbyville Invitational on July 27. Barlow once again led the way with an 84 followed by Bruener's 94 and Wright posting a 97.

"Solid rounds from Reese Barlow! She's off to her best start ever during her career," said Ladycats head coach Rob Bertram. "She's already picked up all state points in two of her three starts. Katie Wright continues to work, back from knee surgery she had during the offseason. All things considered, she has been solid. Our freshman Taylor Bruener has also contributed good play for the team. She's showing that she will do great things during her varsity career," Bertram said.

The Ladycats will look to continue their rise on the leader boards as the calendar flips over to August.
