Dear Editor:
What is a Libertarian? If you’ve never heard the term, you may think it sounds strange. A libertarian, the root word being liberty, is different from a conservative or a liberal. We believe that everyone should be free to pursue life, liberty, and happiness as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others. Simply put, we apply the golden rule to politics.
As Kentuckians, we share a tradition of independence and personal responsibility. We stand against any government that would tell us how we should live our lives. We take care of each other and do so voluntarily. We believe in freedom and that the more government we have, the less free we are.
If that sounds like you, and you think you can run your life better than politicians who vote for 35 million dollar bailouts for U of L, don’t hold corrupt politicians accountable and impose on our freedoms, then come join us. We are the fastest growing political party in the United States, and our goal is nothing less than a world set free in our lifetime.
