Martha Trankler Butcher, 95

Martha Trankler Butcher, 95, of Falmouth, KY passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the River Valley Nursing Home. 

She was born on May 23, 1928, to the late Robert Henry and Elizabeth Jacob Trankler. On September 7, 1945, she married Carl Lee Butcher, and he preceded her in death on September 17, 2012. Martha was a homemaker, a member of the Antioch Mills Christian Church, and a member of the American Legion Post #109 Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved square dancing with her true love, Carl, and was proud to be the last surviving grandchild of Thomas and Martha Jacob.

Martha is survived by her children:  David (Karen) Butcher, Wanda (Blevins) Hensley, and Jennie Butcher; grandchildren Angela (Jim) Beane, Kristina (Bobby) Fuller, Allan (Jody) Hensley, and Chad Hensley; and six great-grandchildren:  Mason Fuller, Coen Fuller, Logan Fuller, Abigail Beane, Tyler Beane, and Rachel Beane. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Jane Butcher.

Along with her parents and dear husband, Carl, Martha was preceded in death by her granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Butcher and sisters Ethel Houston, Norma Chapman, and Georgia Bonar.

Funeral services for Martha were held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth, with Marvin Sullivan officiating. Her great-grandchildren served as pallbearers. The visitation preceded the service. 

Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery.
