Leona Margaret Yates Phillips, 93, of Falmouth, KY, passed away on Jan. 30 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. 

She was born on April 25, 1930, to the late James Edward and Rosanna Shiveley Yates. Leona was a Town and Country Homemaker and a faithful member of the Oakland Christian Church. She loved music and singing and was a member of the Joybound Women’s singing group. Leona was a great friend to so many people and will be remembered for her outgoing personality.

Leona is survived by her children Rosanna Kay Phillips, Sandra Lee (Ed) Fisk, and Bradley Phillips; Grandchildren David Edward Hopkins, Joe (Gloria) Hopkins, Marla Kay (David) Wells, Nicole (Neal) Zuzik; Christopher Crawford, Tom (Laura) Crawford, Leanna (Adam) Sievering, Scott (Rachel) Fisk, Bill (Shelby) Staton, Jonathan (Gloria) Phillips, and Melissa Beth Phillips; Great-grandchildren David Long, Jacob Long, Tyler Hopkins, Juan (Stephanie) Ruano, Priscilla Ruano (Angelo), Isaiah Phillips, Jonah Phillips, Ezra Phillips, Julia (Ryan) Russell, Macon Bishop, Annalee Bishop, McGinley Zuzik, Delaney Zuzik, Gabriel Crawford, Nathaniel Crawford, Owen Fisk, Allison Fisk, Tim Staton, and Addison Staton. Leona was also a proud great-great grandmother to Beau Henry Russell. She is also survived by a sister Loretta Nolder.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband Zane Phillips, as well as eight brothers and sisters.
