LARRY WRIGHT
Larry Gayle Wright, 80, of Falmouth, KY, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Care in Edgewood, KY.
He was born on October 22, 1942, to the late Floyd and Flora Cason Wright, and on March 8, 1969, he married Virginia “Jenny” Delaney Wright. Over the next 54 years, they would create many memories together and share a life full of love and devotion to one another. Larry was an Army Veteran, where he served in Vietnam with the 166th Transportation Detachment, which accompanied the 173rd Airborne. He was a retired rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Dry Ridge, KY and was a life long farmer. Larry attended Oakland Christian Church and loved bluegrass music, singing in the church choir, and enjoying the beautiful Kentucky countryside.
Along with his loving wife, Jenny, Larry is survived by his children: Jennifer Wright of Falmouth, Craig Wright of Falmouth, Carrie (Justin) McElfresh of Nicholasville, Erin (Michael) Montenegro of Alexandria, VA, and Nicholas (Lindsey) Wright of Gardnersville; grandchildren Thomas (Sarah) Wright, Cheyenne Wright, Collin McElfresh, Brennan McElfresh, Emelia Wright, and Ethan Wright.
Larry was preceded in death by his brothers Harold Wright, Donald Wright, Randall Wright, Leonard Wright, Ralph Wright, Alva Lee Wright, Melvin “Bert” Wright, and J.W. Wright, along with his sisters Juanita King, June Kwiatkowski, Thelma Agopian, Betty Ammerman, and Josie Stair.
Visitation for Larry was held on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth. The funeral followed on Monday, August 28th, 2023, also at the funeral home,
Interment took place at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, with full military honors by Hardin Browning Post 109 of Falmouth.
Memorials are suggested to the Oakland Christian Church Choir & Music Ministry or to St. Elizabeth Hospice.
