    Kenzie “Paul” Johnson, 84, of Florence, KY, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at his home. Paul was born to the late Lee and Lula Cummings Johnson on May 25, 1936 and grew up in Butler, KY. He graduated from Butler High School in 1954 and graduated from Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1959. He was a Timothy of Grassy Creek Christian Church. On January 1, 1960 he married Betty Z. Estes Johnson and they just celebrated 61 years of marriage.
    Paul and his classmates worked in Kentucky to open up closed churches before moving to Richmond, VA and Ross, OH. He then moved to Kentucky and sold health and life insurance. In 1984, he started the company Paul Johnson Insurance which is still in business.
    Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Betty Z. Estes Johnson, daughter Krystal “Dawn” (George) Dunckley of Walton, KY. His grandchildren Brittany (Michael) Robinson of Hebron, KY, Jacob Damron II of Florence, KY, Kyle Damron of Walton, KY, along with their grandmother Connie Damron of Willington, Ohio. sisters-in-law Judy and Diana Johnson, Nephews Greg and Steve Johnson, nieces Terri Sylvester, Debbie Eastwood and Nicki Ruber, along with many other friends and family.
    In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by brothers Donnie Johnson, Bob Johnson, Lee Johnson Jr. and sister Frances Nash.
    Paul loved the Lord and his country. At the time of his passing he was doing house church. In his younger years he loved to play softball.
    Visitation will be held from 11-1 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021, at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler, KY. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, also at the funeral home.
    Interment will take place in New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, KY. Pallbearers will be Jacob Damron II, Kyle Damron, Greg Johnson, Michael Robinson and Steve Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Edward, Keith Johnson, Jack Knechtly, Ron Moser, Brittany Robinson and Ron Moreland
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blue Grass Hospice Care 7388 Turfway Rd, Florence, KY 41042 or Walton Verona Community Food Pantry c/o Walton Christian Church 50 S Main St, Walton, KY 41094. Due to Covid-19 the family asks that masks be required along with social distancing.
