Curtis Shelton, 89, of Butler, KY, passed away on November 1, 2023 at St. Elizabeth in Ft. Thomas from the progression of Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on July 5, 1934, son of the late James and Lola Stacy Shelton. 

Curtis was a member of Plum Creek Christian Church and also enjoyed working at the Plum Creek Sharing Center for multiple years. He loved his children and grands with all he had.  He was an avid scratch golfer and made many friends on the course. He worked for Suburban Chevrolet as the Body Shop Manager until his medical retirement. After moving to Grants Lick, he worked on small engines, helped on a family farm with tractor repair, and took up woodworking. Many family and friends were gifted with beautiful works of art before he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. He then began teaching the craft to his son who enjoys it just as much.  

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Maurine Bray Shelton; son Gregory Curtis Shelton; granddaughter Danielle Gosney-Baker; brothers Major, Thurman, Willard and James Berchen Shelton; sisters Dorothy Lockard, Marie Hehman, and Audrey Harris. 

Curtis is survived by his children Vicky (Ray) Pauly, Jeff (Vikki) Shelton, Beverly (Jim) Holland, and John (Jennette) Shelton; grandchildren Heather (Damien) Hicks, Joseph Shelton, Ben Shelton, Will Shelton, Katey Shelton, Shaylan Nilson, Calina Nilson, Stephan Baker; Great-Grands Curtis Hicks, Molly Hicks, Isla Baker; in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, his lunch bunch, many church friends, and golfing buddies.

Visitation and funeral services were held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler.

Interment took place on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Butler Cemetery.
