Collis O’Neal Ray, 86

Collis O’Neal Ray, 86, of Falmouth, KY, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood.  He was born in Lancaster, KY on March 13, 1937, son of the late Elmer Sr. and Leola Stone Ray. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Harold, Erwin “Ben”, Dwight, Elmer Jr. and Ralph Ray; sisters Beverly Green, Josephine Ray; and grandson Justin Yelton.

Collis was a barber for over 65 years and owned Ray’s Barber Shop in Falmouth. He was a member of Antioch Mills Christian Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge in Alexandria for over 50 years, and became a Kentucky Colonel shortly after the Beverly Hills fire in 1977.

Survivors include his wife Pattie Johnson Ray; sons Marty (Donna) Ray and Deron (Jenny) Ray; daughters Ronda (Randy) Yelton and Terri Miller; brother Donald Ray; and sister Rita Allen. Grandchildren Aaron Miller, Chris, Brent and Dustin Yelton, Rachel and Olivia Ray, Austin, Joshua and Brayden Ray. Great-grandchildren include Aurora, Mason, Owen, Grayson, Ryan, and Raelyn.

Visitation and funeral services were held from on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler.

Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery.
