Clara Jean Howard, 86, of Bruce Township, Michigan, formerly of Butler, KY, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2023.
She was born in Hilton, KY on December 24, 1936, daughter of the late Noland and Mary Katherine Vitato Fraley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John Ruey Howard and siblings Nola Lee Carmack, Francis Marie Marburger, Roy Ray Fraley, Wanda Fay Bryant, and Brenda Carol Prewitt.
Clara enjoyed gardening, ceramics, knitting, reading, cooking and canning.
Survivors include her children Carolyn (David) Dowell, Johnia (Edward) Kupets, Michael (Leslie) Howard, Teresa (David) Miller, and Michelle (Dennis) Cress; siblings Noland (Sandra) Fraley, Donnie (Gail) Fraley, Billy (Eva Jean) Fraley, and Ronnie (Lora) Fraley; grandchildren David (Dominique) Dowell, Sharon Dowell, Benjamin (Maranda) Dowell, Tonya Budchuk, Mary Katherine (Mark) Petit, Allison (Scott) Marchione, Kimberly Howard, Madalyn (Derek) Kehrer, Timothy Olver, Jonathan Olver, Leah (Paul) Dest, Olivia Ingram, Noel (Cody) Combs, and Marah (Michael) Baker, Tiffani (David) Trapane, Daniel (Alison) Cress; great-grandchildren Glorie Lee, David John Jr., and Davien Dowell, Autumn, Noah, Eli, and Samuel Anderson, Brian Leon, Evan, and Cole Petit, Garrett, Connor, and Adalyn Harper, Lorilei Olver, Juliette and Amelia Kehrer, Lily and James Fields, Paul Dest Jr., Alexander Dest, Makaylee Pratt, Aurora and Nolan Baker, Evelyn, Lige, and Madalyn Cress and a great great-grandchild Juniper Moore.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. A second visitation and funeral services were held on Saturday, June 24, also at the funeral home.
Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery.
