    Carl Vernon Brown, 82, was born on August 27, 1937 and departed this life on May 24, 2020. Carl was born in Berry, Kentucky to the late John Carlos Brown and Pauline (Wells) Brown.
     Carl was known as a hard-working man, retiring from Black River Mine after 32 years underground along with many other working positions before and after his retirement.
     He was a member of Concord Methodist Church.
    Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Ellen (Creech) Brown and Carolyn (Fields) Brown, a very special uncle, Woodrow W. Brown, and great-grandson Nolan Helfrech.
    Surviving are sons Darryl Brown, Richard K. (Brenda) Brown, Carlos (Dona) Brown; daughters Beverly (Donnie) Buchanan, Debby (Steve) Taylor and Angie (Steve) Fry, sisters Ethel Hubbard and Connie Wright, 14 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
     Peoples Funeral Home in Butler is serving the family. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 11-1 p.m.
    Funeral services will be held privately for the family following the visitation.
    Carl’s final resting place will be in the Concord Cemetery.
