Ladycats split four, now 16-10 overall

    The Pendleton County Ladycats took care of business in a home doubleheader versus district foe Robertson County on May 11, but fell to a pair of 9th region opponents and now sit at 16-10 as the regular season begins to wind down.
  Eighth grader Logan Cooper shined in the first game versus Robertson County as she led the team both inside the pitcher’s circle and at the plate. She threw five innings to earn the win and racked up four of the teams seven hits during the teams 14-6 win. In the second game, it was all Pendleton County as they rolled to a 17-0 lopsided win. Kylie Richardson pitched a shutout and senior Olivia Verst went 3-4 with five RBI’s. Karleigh Prater and Emma Whalen each added three RBI’s each in the rout.
  On May 13, the club traveled to Ryle and were defeated 13-1. The Ladycats mustered just four hits on offense. The following day, the girls returned home and suffered a 13-8 loss to Boone County. Avery Himes led the offense with three RBI’s and seventh grader Mylie Honnert along with Karleigh Prater added two hits each.
  This week, Pendleton County has matchups lined up against Nicholas County,  Bourbon County and a tough road test at Louisville Ballard.
