Body

Donald Jesse Baker died peacefully at home in Foster, KY on April 3, 2021.  He was born July 29, 1936 in Covington KY to Jesse and Dorothy Baker.  He enjoyed riding his tractors and putting up hay, fishing and scuba diving.  He taught generations how to drive and fostered a life-long love of science. Don was an avid basketball player, who helped several of us make better foul shots and layups and at 83, played the Senior Olympics in New Mexico. He was an active volunteer firefighter and his body was escorted to UC Medical School by his beloved Northern Pendleton County Fire Department.  Don started and retired from Baker, Bauer and Fish, a successful heating and cooling company in Cincinnati.  He is survived by his wife, Donna Baker, first wife and friend Delores McCarter, children Doug Baker, Melanie Jane Baker, Todd (Melanie Ann) Baker, Emily (Scott) Baker, Ellen (Jay) Holland, Neil David (Hoyt) Seibel and Eric (Heather) Seibel, grandchildren Christian and Grant Caldwell, Rachel and Grace Holland, Callie and Siena Baker and Genevieve and Josie Seibel.   His wife, children and grandchildren were with him when he passed on to his next adventure, riding literally into the sunset accompanied by his favorite Mac fire truck.  In lieu of funeral services, a wake for family and close friends will be held during the summer.
