As the news broke about the arrest of Justin Neuby, the board of directors for the Northern Pendleton Fire and Ambulance District had a busy evening handling phone calls and making decisions on the day-to-day operations and decision-making process for the district.
Keith Gunkel, chairman of the board, told the Falmouth Outlook, “We will continue to provide services to our constituents of the tax district.”
Larry Record has been named the Interim Chief. He is a past chief of the district and his family has been inolved in the district since its inception. Record lives in the district while working for the Alexandria Fire District.
Gunkely indicated that Jerry Brun who is a past chief will be assisting and “everyone will pitch in and do business as normal.”     As far as the status of Nueby, Gunkel said last week, “Justin is suspended without pay while an investigation by the board is ongoing. He is no longer affiliated during the suspension till the outcome of the investigation.”
On Monday morning, Gunkel received a letter of resignation from Nueby and expected it would be accepted at their next board meeting on Monday, April 12.
Gunkel indicated the district has not been contacted by Kentucky State Police about the district’s computer equipment usage.
