The Kentucky Wildcats returned to the hardwood following a seven-day layoff on Feb. 27 hosting the Florida Gators.
During the second half, Pendleton County product Dontaie Allen entered the contest less than three minutes in but would only see four minutes of action as he went scoreless without a shot attempt.
Following the game, Head coach John Calipari spoke to reporters about Allen’s brief appearance in the contest and voiced his displeasure about his teammates inability to get him the ball.
“I put Dontaie in and said find him. Guess what? They didn’t look at him. I don’t know what it was, but we were not connected today like we have been,” he said.
A few days prior to the matchup with the Gators, Calipari indicated that he would be shrinking his rotation during the final games of the regular season and SEC tournament play. Allen, along with Lance Ware and Cam’Ron Fletcher do not appear to be in the primary rotation of seven players that Calipari will roll with as the Wildcats only shot at a berth in the NCAA tournament will be an automatic berth that can only come by winning the SEC tournament.
