Competing via Google Meets, the PCHS Academic Team placed first overall taking home many individual awards.
The Quick Recall Team faced three matches that day and came out on top in all of them. The Future Problem Solving Team also received a first place finish in their division.
In Social Studies, PC sophomore Jacob Sanning earned first place. Language Arts was dominated by the Redden siblings with Annie Redden, sophomore, placing first and her sister, Allie Redden, senior, coming in at third. Mathematics and Arts and Humanities were overtaken by sophomore Emma Gillespie who placed first in both subjects. In composition, senior Jordan Kirsch followed suite with the rest of the team and placed first with her writing.
Sophomore Emma Gillespie shared, “It’s been a pretty tough year with doing everything online and dealing with a new format, but overall, I’m proud of our team and hope we can continue to do well in upcoming competitions.”
All in all, it’s evident that the team is set on that pathway to continue doing well in the future, and they hope to do so moving on to the regional competition.
