The big race this week was in North Carolina at Millbridge Speedway. The 1/6 mile track hosted the Outlaw Kart racing cars. Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, and Chase Briscoe all drove midgets this weekend in the race. The first feature saw Chase Briscoe hold off Kyle Larson for the win while in the second feature Larson secured the win and was named overall champion for the week. The action was fast and dirt was flying everywhere as the little high speed machines were sliding through the corners. I believe I read that Kyle Larson now has 46 victories in racing since he was banned by NASCAR.
The Chili Bowl is next up in Oklahoma in January. The race will draw all the big names in Sprint Cars. Larson, Elliott, and Briscoe all have entered.
Ricky Thornton Jr. who won over 38 races across a spectrum of different series will next season move to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series full time and compete as a rookie.
MavTV broadcast the Rumble by the River, which was ran earlier this year, from Port Royal on  Thursday. The race was Kyle Larson debut in Late Model. Larson ended up leading all 50 laps on the way to a win.
Ken Schrader has sold his race shop in North Carolina and is setting up a new shop in St. Louis. Schrader still plans on running dirt races in his modifieds.
Before the NASCAR dirt race next season at Bristol the track will host a late model dirt race called The Bristol Dirt Nationals March 15-20. Although Late Models will be the headliner other classes will be announced soon. The race will be streamed on raceXR.com.
NASCAR looking ahead to next season amid the ongoing pandemic has already moved the race scheduled for Auto Club Speedway to the road course at Daytona on February 19-21 which pushes Homestead back one week.
Jimmie Johnson will run the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January. This will be his eigth attempt at the race. He will be driving the #48 Cadillac DPI-V.R.
Announced this week by Kyle Busch Motorsports that Chandler Smith will be driving #18 Safelite Autoglass Tundra. Although Smith has driven for KBM for the last couple of years this will be his first season full time behind the wheel for KBM.
SRX announced it will race at Lucas Oil Raceway joining Eldora on the series schedule. So far the only two dates announced.
