The Ladycats picked up two wins last week as they faced the Lady Saints of St. Pat and the Lady Green Devils of Dayton.
Junior Raegan Carlisle led the teams in goals as the Ladycats dominated St. Pat. The Lady Saints were never able to mount any type of attack during the first half as Pendleton County controled the ball and tempo. The Ladycats scored often and early as the Lady Saints couldn’t put together a solid defensive stop.
During the second half as Coach Aaron Harper rotated players in and out St. Pat was finally able to put one in the goal.
The Ladycats played Dayton earlier in the week and shut the Lady Green Devils out 9-0.
Coach Harper said that his team has continued to improve game by game,
“We are trusting our individual skills and working better as a team.”
The Ladycats have scored 17 goals this season spread out among six different players while recording 10 assists by six different players.
“In both games we wanted to set the tone and attack early. We were able to focus on controlling the midfield and moving the ball quickly making passes with a purpose.”
The Ladycats have been trying to get the upperhand in games by pressing hard against opponents defense by pressing upward and using the whole field. It seems to be paying off as the Ladycats were able to two victories in the win column.
Coach Harper commented, “I’m so proud of this team for getting two wins at home. We started off the year with a very difficult schedule, but the players have remained positive and focused on improving.”
He is pleased with the outlook for his team, “The early losses showed us where we need to improve.”
