Ladycat Volleyball declaws the Panthers

    The Ladycats traveled over to the river to take on the Lady Panthers of Augusta last Tuesday.
    The Ladycats who are three and one in their last four games was looking to get back in the win column.
    The teams played a two set match that saw the Ladycats win both 25-20 and 25-19. Coach Danielle French said her squad started off strong and continued to play that way throughout the game.
    Jordan Kirsch led the team having a great night for the Ladycats compiling 12 serving points and 17 assists. Alison Aulick countinued her strong play with 19 kills and five digs. Emma Reid, six aces, two blocks and two kills, helped propel the team as Alexis Cornett contributed with five aces, two kills, and two blocks.
    The day before Augusta the Ladycats faced district powerhouse Harrison County. The net wasn’t kind as the Ladycats were swept 3-0 by the Lady Fillies. The Ladycats started out strong and fought right to the end with Harrison County, but faltered in the second and third.
    Alison Aulick led the team with 12 kills, 12 digs, and four blocks. Aulick has set herself up as being the most consistent player for the Ladycats so far this season. Alexis Cornet chipped in four blocks, three kills, and three aces. The Verst duo of Olivia and Madison anchored the back line fending off the attacks from the Lady Fillies.
    Even though it wasn’t a victory as a coach you are always looking and evaluating the progress of your players. Coach French noted after the game, “We had a few underclassman really step up this game.”
