Sunday night the race at Las Vegas was more than just a race as it kicked off the second round of the playoffs.
Being the hometown of the Busch brothers expectations were big for Kyle as he has been putting together some consistent races in the last few weeks. However it was the other brother who had something to say about that as Kurt took his #1 car to the front of the pack and held off a hard charging #21 of Matt DiBenedetto. #11 Denny Hamlin seemed to have found his groove again leading 121 laps, but came in third place.  A caution flag on lap 236 caused all kind of troubles for the race leaders at the time, because they had just exited the pits,  such as Hamlin, Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott putting them back in the middle of the pack.
The win automatically placed Kurt Busch into the round of eight a big relief for the team as he was situated at the bottom of the playoff contenders by points.
The series moves to the Roval at Charlotte next week. The track may bring trouble for a few of the drivers who now sit on th cut line.
The big announcement this week is that Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin have put together a team for the Cup circuit and Bubba Wallace will be the team driver. Although no official announcement has been made I would bet money they will field #23 car. Hamlin is currently the only driver to wear Jumpman gear in the sport. He will be a minority owner and continue to drive for JGR. Many people have said Wallace is a good driver just needs better equipment looks like he is going to get it.
Chase Briscoe picked up his eigth win of the season in the Xfinity Series in his bid for a championship and the hope of moving up to a Cup ride next season.
NASCAR upheld the suspension of Kenny Wallace, but still has never released what action caused him to be suspended in the first place.
