192 deer taken with a gun on opening weekend in the county. Lakota Taxidermy biggest deer checked in was Buddy Eaton’s 13 pointer with a 20 inch outside span and 18 inch inside span. Wells Open Market has reported 115 deer the biggest being Greg Ramsey with an 11 pointer with a 23 1/2 inch span.
Patton, Henry win statewide governot and lt. governor races over Larry Forgy and Tom Handy. Patton carried 63 of Kentuckt’s 120 counties. Forgy and Handy won Pendleton County with 1,532 votes to 1,313 for Patton and Henry.

Traffic light causes backup on U.S. 27. The newly installed light has caused backup at times for traffic heading south into Falmouth.The problem increases as traffic backs up Pendleton Hill. This could pose a danger for traffic coming down the hill.

Two new elementary schools are being built that will be known as Northern and Southern Elementary.
Joshua Waldron, aged 90 years, well known retired Falmouth merchant passed away Sunday, November 1, 1970. He was the son of the late John C. and Kate McGee Waldron.
James Meyer Ernst passed away Sunday, October 25, 1970. He had resided at Route #1, Berry.
Word has been received in Falmouth of the birth of a new son, Shannon Stuart, born on October 9, 1970 to Malcolm and Barbara Cheek of Fort Worth, Texas.
75 Years Ago - November 9, 1945
Jack Merrick, who has been serving in the U. S. Navy was expected to arrive in Chicago, Illinois this week for a discharge. He is expected at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Merrick, the latter part of the week.
Paul E. Hall of Baltimore, Maryland was discharged from the USNTC at Bainbridge, Maryland on October 21 and is again at his home at 3051 Woodside Avenue.
Mrs. Martha Hamilton Struve, aged 85 years, a former resident of Falmouth, and the mother of Mrs. Hallie Hume of this city, passed away early Ftiday morning, October 27, 1945, at the home of another daughter, Mrs. Robert E. Browning at Washington Courthouse, Ohio.
Miss Violet Buckler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Buckler of Cincinnati and Sgt. Harold Ross Stone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Stone of Morgam, were united in marriage October 11, 1945 by Rev. W. L. Renshaw of Greenup St., Covington.

William O’ Brien, 60 years old, a farmer and former horse trainer of Demooville, was found dead in a room which he had engaged in the Emery Hotel, Cincinnati, early Sunday morning.
John Taylor Heaverin passed away at his home near Lenoxburg on October 23, after an illness of three weeks duration that baffled medical skill.
