By Nila Harris Brennan McElfresh’s initial interest in the United States Naval Academy probably started on an eighth-grade field trip to Washington, D.C., according to Brennan’s dad Justin. As part of that trip, McElfresh visited the school in Annapolis, Maryland.
Interlocal agreements and their legitimacy are part of the ongoing disagreement between the City of Falmouth and the county. KRS 62.210 - 65.300 describe interlocal agreements between cities, counties, and other entities. Interlocal agreements for planning and zoning have been in place since at least 2014; code enforcement began in 2020 with the creation of the county officer. Animal control was last agreed to in 2017. That was interrupted in 2013 by Mark Hart due to costs.

Invasive spotted lanternfly seen in Lexington

By Carolyn Reid Pendleton County Cooperative Extension Office released an announcement on Facebook last week that the spotted lanternfly was in Kentucky. The pest had been seen in Lexington. That is too close for extension agent Lindie Huffman.

Falmouth Rotary Club Awards Scholarships

The Falmouth Rotary Club presented two PCHS Seniors with the Linda Legacy Scholarship. The Linda Legacy Scholarship was set up in memory of Linda Sue Morris Thornton, who was active in Rotary, the community, and the PC school system.
