Tim W. Morrison, installed on Falmouth City Council as of January 1, turned in his resignation as of March 30, 2023, not three months after taking the seat. Morrison cited increasing demands on his time as the reason for his resignation.

Morrison had attended four meetings of the six that have taken place since his tenure began

Morrison’s letter of resignation, dated March 28, 2023, reads as follows:

“Due to recent changes in my business and increasing demands on my time I believe it necessary for me to resign from Falmouth City Council effective immediately upon your receipt of this letter.

I entered the race for council with full intention to serving out the tenure of my term. It was my hope and desire to serve and help the City of Falmouth succeed beyond expectations. However, with the increasing demands on my time with my business, and my inability to attend the last two meetings, I believe it to be in the best interest of the council and the citizens of Falmouth to vacate my council seat. It is my desire for someone to fill my seat that has the time to effectively serve and move the city forward.

It has been my honor to be a member of the Falmouth City Council and I do this with all the best intentions for the City of Falmouth.”

City ordinance references KRS 83A.040(5) which establishes the remaining members of council “...shall within 30 days fill the vacancies...”

Falmouth City Council will meet in caucus Tuesday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m.
