Butler City Council receiving thousands from American Relief Fund

    Butler city council met in regular session on 06/07/2021. The fire departments had been recruiting and have gained five new members, three for Butler and two for Falmouth. They were able to put 19 new helmets into place with the aid of some grant money they received.
    There will be a bike rodeo coming thru town on June 26th. This is an all day event.  
    There was an audience present at the council meeting to ask about a sign being erected at the end of her street. Noted and mayor stated sign has already been ordered.
    Paperwork has been submitted for black topping award of $11,400 est. The city’s attorney has written the contract for the purchase of Gary Damen’s property and the city is hoping to hear from him soon. The second reading of the budget was presented and passed.  
    As previously reported, the City of Butler was to receive $53,776 from the American Relief Fund. That amount has been changed to $75,505.  Doors on the Community Center will be completed by week.  
    There will be fireworks this year on July 2, 2021 around 6:00 p.m. with festivities beginning prior to them at 6:00 p.m.
