Dear Editor:

On New Year’s Day, Christina and I had decided to take a hike out at Kincaid Lake along with many other local hikers. Our youngest son Jett was becoming fussy so Christina and I decided to take him back while allowing Kip, Perry, and Penn to continue on with family members and many others that were participating in this annual hiking event.

On our way back, Christina had Jett in a carrying backpack when she slipped and fell. She began screaming in agony because of her right ankle. Thankfully, Michelle Hamilton and a young boy came to us to help out after we started hollering for help.

The young boy tended to our three year old Jett. This young kid did a marvelous job in keeping Jett entertained until other people and family members arrived to help assist Christina in safely getting off the trail.

In today’s society good deeds often go unnoticed. I want to let people know and thank them for their help in helping my wife on New Year’s Day. I specifically want to give a personal thank you to Michelle Hamilton, Uncle Tim, Aunt Kathy and this young boy. I cannot remember his name (it was a cool name) but I know his parents own the new bakery in Falmouth. Thank you Dave Billings for getting the Gator to assist with transportation back to our vehicle.

While talking to this young boy, I complemented him on his good deeds, compassion, composure, and assistance today. Without missing a beat, the boy told me that I should thank his mom and dad. Well I am thanking them for being great parents and raising their son with such positive mannerisms, integrity and exemplary leadership in a world where it’s now absent and so ever needed by all.  I want to publicly thank you too buddy for a job well done today. Thanks to everybody involved that helped Christina during this situation.

With kindest regards and appreciation,

Brandon G. Gregg
