Butler Christ Community

Greetings friends, may our Good Lord bless you all today and every day.

Pastor Ron spoke to us from the book of Psalms this Sunday morning, from Chapter 84:1-12. The sermon was followed in reverence by Holy Communion.

We would love for our adult friends to join us on October 13 for adult game night and snacks.

Women's bible study is every Wednesday at 6 p.m. We are studying Daniel.

It won’t be long before our Annual Christmas Auction. This year it will be held on November 4, and once again we will be having our barbecue dinner.

Please pray with us for those mentioned in our concern.

May The Lord be with you!

Mt. Gilead

Mt. Gilead will have their last service for this year on Sunday, October 15th at 2 p.m. It is also their "Soup Day". Come and enjoy the service, special music, soup, sandwiches, and desserts. Bro. Jim McCann will be the speaker.

Come worship with us at the little church on the hill.

Oakland

True worship is a heart condition. Expressions of worship include singing, and yes, even shouting!  God loves it all!

Kincaid Regional Theatre presents "Horseman--A Sleepy Hollow Tale" on October 12-14, 7 p.m. at Stonewood Gardens, Falmouth.

"Pumpkins & Potluck" takes place on October 15 after church. All are invited. Bring a dish and stay for the carving and painting of pumpkins (which are provided).

Our youth are planning "Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice" for ages 10 and up, on October 22 after church. They'll do a community project first, then go out for fun activities.  Cost is $10.

Prayer concerns include Bobby and Linda Johnson, Danny Flynn, Jeanine Cox, Melva Moore, Judy Spencer, Rick Halcomb, Jim Sharp, Piper McClanahan, Brenda Cobb, Troy Greene, Diane Moorhead, Ricky Gillespie, Geneva Morris, Jane Bentle, shut-ins, cancer issues, and our nation.

Our sympathy to loved ones of Vickie Price Taylor.

Pleasant Ridge

What’s the use of saying that you have faith and you are a Christian if you aren’t proving it by helping others? If you have a friend in need of food and clothing would you say, "Good-bye, stay warm, and eat hearty," but you not do anything to help them. What good does that do? It isn’t enough just to have faith, you must do good to prove that you do have faith. Faith that doesn’t show itself by good works is no faith at all.

Turner Ridge

Sunday School – if you’re not coming, you’re missing out on a great time of learning about God’s word in a small group setting, with others just wanting to learn more about the bible.

During our worship service Lisa Osterlind had the children’s message, Check Out Our Library. October is church library month and we are blessed with a wonderful library with books for all ages. Brooke Florer read Galatians 5:24-25 and the Praise team sang Come Jesus Come. Bro. Dale’s message was titled Every Member In Ministry: Fasting and Praying; he led our congregation in a direction to fast and pray for the young people in our community. Pray they come to church, get to know Jesus and are saved and then discipled. As adults it’s our job to make sure we share the word of Jesus, especially with the children. Join us in praying for the kids in our community, that they seek to know Jesus and are saved.
